Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC)
A cooperative group of artists, photographers and sculptors based in Red Hook, Brooklyn, who hold several exhibits each year in a pre-Civil War warehouse on the scenic Brooklyn waterfront opposite the Statue of Liberty.
My photographs have been selected for inclusion in all of BWAC's international juried competitions from Spring, 2012 through Fall, 2016. Curators from several of the major museums in NYC have served as jurors for these shows.
[I have been a member of BWAC since 2007.]
The gallery is located in Chelsea, NYC. Viridian held its first juried international photography show in January-February, 2011. Two of my photos were selected for inclusion in this show by Elizabeth Sussman, curator at the Whitney Museum of Art in Manhattan. Since then my work has been selected for several gallery shows and several on-line Director's Choice awards at Viridian.
United Photo Industries
The United Photo Industries gallery is located in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn. One of my photographs was selected for a show titled "It's a Thin Line Between Love and Hate," in February, 2013.
Professional Women Photographers
The organization sponsors lectures, workshops, classes and art shows. With no gallery space of its own, it presents its gallery shows in a variety of exhibition venues in Manhattan. It also has a web presence and runs continuing on-line photo exhibits. Two of my photos were selected for PWP's current on-line show.
Williamsburg Art and Historical (WAH) Center
The WAH Center is in an old, landmarked bank building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It is the scene of music, dance and theater performances, as well as art exhibits. Two of my photos were selected for the WAH Center's "Grand Harvest" show, Oct. - Dec., 2012, and two others were previously purchased for the Center's permanent collection.
Marafiki Fair Trade
Marafiki is an art and imports shop located in Metuchen, New Jersey. Twelve of my photographs were featured in a solo show there in Oct. - Nov., 2012 (interrupted by Hurricane Sandy).
An art gallery/bookstore/publishing house, located in DUMBO, Brooklyn. One of my photographs was chosen by a panel of judges for inclusion in a Powerhouse show called "Capture Brooklyn," held in October 2010.
